Old things give way to the new. You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. If it were only eggs you had to deal with ... If a road is to be extended, trees often have to give way, sometimes even houses. In Augsburg the extension of a major road is hindered by a brand-name filling station. This means that contaminations in parts of the buildings and contaminated soil have to be reckoned with. Working on earlier projects HPC already made a favourable impression on authorities in Augsburg, which makes it obvious to renew cooperation.
			Get things straight. At first, HPC investigates the building material of the filling station and collects soil samples. We also consult the findings of earlier investigations. Our analysis shows the extent of the contamination. We make all preparations, make up a list of where exactly hazardous substances are and what risks they entail. We then set up ground-water test points to be able to constantly check the ground-water quality during the work.
			Better safe than sorry... It is essential to remove identified pollutants such as asbestos, PAH and PCB from the buildings with the utmost care before the actual demolition. We don't like surprises, the less so if pollutants could escape into the environment during the demolition work. Avoidable damage not only in environmental but also in financial terms. Additional contamination would have to be removed again. Work would be delayed ...
			Authorities play along. We submit our concept for dismantling and disposal to the responsible authorities. At centre stage is the recycling of bituminous and mineral materials to be used in road construction. Within the framework of a work and safety concept we pay special attention to guaranteeing the safety of the workers.
			Supervising person. HPC is in charge of the invitation to tender and the placing of orders and directs the dismantling measures. Occasional soil contaminations can be disposed of without any problems. Four months have passed from placing the order with HPC until the work is finished.
			No searching for lost time. Drivers have their road back to themselves. Treating "ingredients" separately is essential not only when making professional omelettes ... Interested? We have more in store.
