When a business enterprise as big as the Berliner Wasserbetriebe is to be partly privatised, a lot of questions arise that have to be answered. After all, it is one of the biggest companies in the field of water management and sewage water disposal in Germany. A syndicate intends to purchase a stake of 49,9 per cent. And this syndicate - made up of the French conglomerate Vivendi, RWE and the Allianz - does not want to buy a pig in a poke ...

You know the facts..
Of course, the key features are no secret:
The "Berliner Wasserbetriebe" supplies 3.7 million people in Berlin and on its outskirts with drinking water and dispose of the sewage water, operating for this purpose eleven state-of-the-art water works. Sewage water is cleared in seven water treatment plants in an environmentally sound procedure. Provided with nutritient elimination these treatment plants are also up to standard.

You don't know the facts.
All this is interesting but not nearly enough to fairly assess a business enterprise. The syndicate Vivendi-RWE-Allianz employs an interdisciplinary project team made up of business economists, businessmen and women, auditors, lawyers and technical engineers. HPC takes on the evaluation of investment risks related to environmental matters. We commit ourselves to strict confidentiality. For several months our specialists are on the spot. At times, ten of them simultaneously work on this task. Our project team is set up variably depending on the respective prevailing requirements. For evaluation HPC relies on standardized test methods adapting them to concrete problems related to the environment and contaminations. In cooperation with the lawyers involved, we assess identified potential environmental risks as to their legal significance.

Facts facts facts - The decision is taken.
HPC's environmental due diligence provides proprietors and investors with legal and cost calculating security in matters concerning environmental technology. Due to the syndicate's involvement there is enough financial strength to keep the high standard of the Berlin water works.
